When we made the difficult decision to close the farm for a period, we were completely overwhelmed by the messages we received from families who had visited The Watering Hole over the years. So many people got in touch to tell us how much their visits had meant to them, with countless families saying that lamb feeding had become a yearly tradition. Many shared that they had been coming back year after year for three or even four seasons, bringing children, friends and grandparents to experience the magic of spring on the farm.
Over the years, lamb feeding has become about more than just the lambs. It’s about the wonderful characters who have become part of the Watering Hole story too — familiar favourites like Betty, Pamela and Larry, who many visitors still remember fondly from their time on the farm.

Our lamb feeding sessions are designed to be informative, fun and hands-on, giving families the chance to step into the farmyard, learn about caring for the lambs and help bottle feed those that need a little extra support. To celebrate their moment helping on the farm, every young visitor receives a Watering Hole Lamb Feeding Certificate to take home as a special keepsake.
And of course, there is always the moment everyone waits for… when the call goes out across the farmyard and together we shout:
“BRING OUT THE LAMBS!”
